The Aeron Chair has been the benchmark for ergonomic seating ever since its debut in 1994. Since then, Herman Miller has learned a lot about how to best support people—and their postures. What has been incorporated into today’s Aeron Chair are all the technological and ergonomic enhancements that have been gained along the way: smarter weight distribution through 8Z Pellicle, adjustable PostureFit SL for total spinal support, and balanced recline and natural movement thanks to Harmonic 2 Tilt.
Designed for the elements
Aeron is available in a palette of six meticulously curated material expressions centered on natural elements that lean neutral. These colors include: Onyx, a dramatic ultra-black shade; Graphite, a distinctive dark gray; Carbon, a balanced neutral; Mineral a light,illuminating gray; the new-to-Aeron Nightfall, a sophisticated midnight blue; and Jasper, an earthy olive green. Each component of the chair creates a fundamentally harmonious color palette.
Sustainable from the start
Aeron’s material innovation is at the heart of its sustainability story—and a lesson in the major effects of dematerialization. The chair is composed of more than 50 % recycled material—and in 2021, we added ocean-bound plastic to the chair. We’ve also increased the amount of recycled and organic materials in the chair’s composition. Not only is Aeron actively innovated upon, but it’s also naturally sustainable through its quality design, which keeps it out of landfills. So when we say Aeron is a lasting design, we mean it wholeheartedly.
A more inclusive chair
Aeron’s three sizes—A, B, and C—were precisely designed to welcome a wide range of body types. Most ergonomic chairs accommodate people in the fifth to 95th percentile, but we believe an even broader range of individuals deserve a chair that fits them: everything from the backrest height, to the seat width, to the tilt mechanism, all the way down to the size of the base. There’s an Aeron suited to nearly everyone, from the first to the 99th percentile.
